When the work of a manager gets beyond his capacity, there should be some system of sharing the work. This is how delegation of authority becomes an important tool in organization function.Â
The act of delegating is investing with authority to act for another or ‘the distribution of responsibility and authority to others while holding them accountable for their performance.’ Hence, delegating means asking someone else to perform a task that is one of your responsibilities or work that you are being paid to do. It is entrusting responsibility and authority to others who then become responsible to us for their results but we remain accountable to our boss for what our subordinates do.
This course will cover the foundations of delegation to prepare anyone who needs to learn it.

Delegation
Delegation is a duty that requires deeper thinking. I didn’t realize that delegation had so many parts and the level of consideration that has to go into the process is challenging, yet, needed. I will have to be mindful of the pitfalls or barriers to delegating. The Instructor provided great information and tools to use.
New to managing
Great format. Put simply for someone who has never been in a managerial position and needs to learn how to delegate tasks, and/or just needs a refresher. Awesome course.
